Russian Solitaire: what to know before playing

Work at your own pace. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Begin with the objective. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Take a closer look while playing

Use the rule sheet as a reference. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

Understand the aim

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Keep the active rule in mind.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Move exposed cards onto suit foundations in the stated rank order.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

The controls to know

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. For a calm first round, focus on one decision.

Put the rules into context

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

A mistake to avoid

Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Use another round to revisit a decision.
