Declaration Practice: what to know before playing

A clear plan starts with the current position. Check whether a complete 13-card hand can satisfy every declaration requirement. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer. Keep the active rule in mind. Start a 10-question session. Read the visible rule label and wild rank, if shown. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

500 stored and rule-checked questions; ten questions per session. Questions can repeat across sessions. Practice is solo, with no rating, cash reward or account.

A focus for your next round

Use the rule sheet as a reference. All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

The challenge in front of you

Check whether a complete 13-card hand can satisfy every declaration requirement. Check the relevant controls before continuing. Work at your own pace.

Step by step

  1. Start a 10-question session. Read the visible rule label and wild rank, if shown.
  2. All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence.
  3. Study the complete hand before answering. Choose Valid or Not valid.
  4. Read the explanation after submitting. Each question accepts one submitted answer.
  5. Continue to the tenth question for a session score; start another session for a new selection.

Making selections and moves

Tap the answer buttons or selected card; the deadwood exercise uses a numeric input. Next question appears after an answer. Check the relevant controls before continuing. Keep the active rule in mind.

See the idea in action

Example hand: Q♠ Q♦ 6♠ Q♥ Q♣ 4♦ 5♣ Joker 5♦ 5♠ 7♠ 6♦ 5♥. Wild rank 11. All thirteen cards can be split into legal non-overlapping melds, including two sequences and a pure sequence. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

Keep this in mind

For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Do not judge only the best three cards; every remaining card matters. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Further help with the game

What is the aim?

Check whether a complete 13-card hand can satisfy every declaration requirement. For a calm first round, focus on one decision. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

How do I use the controls?

Tap the answer buttons or selected card; the deadwood exercise uses a numeric input. Next question appears after an answer. Work at your own pace. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Which format is available?

500 stored and rule-checked questions; ten questions per session. Questions can repeat across sessions. Practice is solo, with no rating, cash reward or account. Keep the active rule in mind. Use another round to revisit a decision.

What should I check before a move?

Do not judge only the best three cards; every remaining card matters. Begin with the objective. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Can you give an example?

One pure run, another joker-assisted run and two complete sets can cover a valid 13-card hand. Before making a move, check the cards in view. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

How many questions are available?

This exercise contains 500 stored questions. A session selects ten without repeating within that session. Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

Can I change a submitted answer?

No. Read the explanation, then continue. Start another session to practise again. Look at the complete hand before deciding. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Are the answers checked against the rules?

All cards need a non-overlapping grouping, at least two sequences and at least one pure sequence. Begin with the objective. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Will I always see new cards?

No. The bank is finite, so another session may include a previously played question. Take a moment to read the table. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

What does the score measure?

The score is the number of correct answers in this ten-question session. It is not a skill certificate or a prediction of match results. Take a moment to read the table. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.
